Nice, France

Nice is found in the South-East of France, along the southern coast. It has recently undergone renovation, and so the city is looking particularly vibrant.

The main square has undergone much improvement, with trams now running through, and the surrounding buildings and paving have all undergone a facelift.

Down the road is this lovely little street, which has a large flower market running down the centre of the street, the majority of the buildings house restaurants, which give the street a lovely atmosphere.

Nice has much likeness to other Mediterranean cities, like Barcelona, the thin streets lined with local shops and tall storey building, it makes an intricate space, which is pleasant to stroll through.

Even though it was christmas time it was still sunny in town, in the central park that runs down between two of the main roads, there was a christmas funfair, and a small German Market.

Saint Paul de Vence

Saint Paul de Vence is a small Medieval hill village in Southeastern France. It has gained it's fame for all of the small contemporary art galleries and museums situated in the village.

The architecture is very classical France. Stone built houses, with wooden shutters and iron balconies and lanterns.

In the village centre were some men playing petanque, a traditional french game

Paris

Architecture of Paris

A couple of years ago i took the Eurostar to Paris for the weekend with my family, having an interest in architecture then i managed to take a good amount of photographs of the Parisian architecture. Firstly here beginning with the Louvre, as my hotel was merely a minute walk away. The Louvre being famous for holding the Mona Lisa, as well as it's glass pyramid in the central square. Causing a modern contrast against the 1700's façade.

 The Louvre

A square in Paris, sadly do not know the name.

The Théâtre du Palais-Royal,

A carnival in the park opposite hotel Le Meurice,

The Ritz hotel in Paris, in the courtyard,

 Arc de Triomphe,

Centre Pompidou, designed by architect Richard Rogers, all pipe work has been placed on the outside of the building. Which is what it is famous for, as well as it's exposed steel frame structor, and escalator that takes one to the top.

Notre Dame

And finally a view of the Seine, from a bride over to Notre Dame.
